I'd been down to Panama for the carnival in Las Tablas where I spent 4 hectic days with Jeff a friend from my old job in Maidenhead, and other travelers, drinking, dancing, doing the conga and watching parades. The town was split into two parts for the week each with their own queens and a rivalry shown in water pistol fights. Half of panama was in the town, shown by the lack of water for toilets but not for water fights which were fueled by massive water trucks with water canons. After that we headed to the north Caribbean coastal islands of Bocas Del Toro then over to Costa Rica. Here I lost Jeff after a little escapade in Manzanillo, a small beach village.

San Jose

My last story ended as I was about to set of from Managua to Costa Rica, an appropriate name for a place as the change from the Nicaraguan tourist system (cheep) to Costa Rica's, $20 to do anything was a bit of a shock. I first hit San Jose which I liked as it had that European feel. They all new English and it had a town centre shopping area with all the usual shops (shoe shops of course).
