Eventually I ran out of things to do in Leon and Nicaragua so I decided to tour Panama & Costa Rica.
Panama City
I went direct down to Panama city with quick holas on the way to friends in Managua and San Jose. Here i met up with Jeff Bayly who has just started traveling and we went to see the Panamanian Carnival in Las Tablas. Panama city was just full of money laundering hotels (sky scrapers with no clients but big profits!!!!) and Karaoke bars (oh and a canal), however Las Tablas was a blast....
Las Tablas
Imagine a small town, where most of the rich kids of panama go for 5 days to get drunk, dance, watch parades and have water fights. It only took half an hour to realise a water pistol was a required asset, along with our cooler carrying mates, Cliff & Ted and the screaming fish wives ;-)
Boquete & Bocas del Toro
This is when we hit the hotel California syndrome... we could not leave. A joint effort on the 4th, or was it 5th day and we escaped to Boquete in cliffs car. Just one night in the Swiss alps like town then on to Bocas Del Toro a Caribbean Island in a massive cloud forest region.
